Jessica Ires Morris - Artistic Assistant
Jessica Ires Morris is awfully proud to be the first Artistic Assistant hired at kasina. In addition to assisting the CEO, Jessica performs a host of motley tasks: planning and facilitating offsites, coordinating roundtables, overseeing training, and tinkering with the Web site. She grew up in Gainesville, Florida with a principal mom and a circuit judge dad. It wasn't nearly as bad as it sounds. She attended Smith College and began working as a Congressional Caseworker with a member of the U.S. House of Representatives . She gave tours, wrote speeches, and answered a host of constituent questions including, "If a seagull swallows an Alka-Seltzer tablet, will it actually explode?"
Jessica received her MFA in Performance from The California Institute of the Arts. She has moonlighted as a personal assistant, a nanny, a gofer, a think tank flunky, a production coordinator, a spa site coordinator and a terrifyingly clumsy waitress. Jessica is also a working actress. Recent shows, include Around the World in 80 Days and Dead Man's Cell Phone at the Hippodrome Theater and A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Actors Theatre of Louisville. Last year she performed in Noises Off and The Winter's Tale, both of which received rave reviews in The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. She also just finished a stint as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Florida.
When she actually is able to live in her own home, Jessica is a proud resident of Washington Heights (aka "The Stratosphere").
