history

kasina was first born when Steven Miyao decided to create the company he'd always wanted to work for. He and Lee Kowarski founded kasina in 1999 to create a company that has a positive effect on its employees, the environment, and the community at large. Mike Ma joined Steven and Lee in 2001, and the three principals have since collaborated to develop kasina from a young startup to one of the most influential thought-leaders in the financial services sector.

Recognizing that asset management firms were reluctant to question standard business practices, kasina was founded to challenge conventional wisdom. Our ability to ask the tough questions enabled us to find and develop unexplored opportunities within companies in need of strategy overhauls.

Through our efforts to innovate distribution, we've introduced revolutionary business ideas to the industry, including hybrid wholesaling, annual Web site evaluation for varied types of Web sites, and intelligent distribution.

Now, ten years later, we are a leading consultancy in asset management with a growing family of clients spanning five continents. Through the kasina Youth Foundation, and our participation in and support of non-profit organizations like Peace Games and Cents Ability, we maintain an active, positive presence in our community.
